Don’t Be That Bride

“Dirty Thirty” and “Thirty is the New Twenty” sound like exciting notions to look forward to. They are lies!! At least so far, for me; lies. Instead, life has forced my stubborn hand to reflect and grieve certain decisions my younger self should have given more care. 

One major decision, in particular, my Wedding. I was excited that my Boyfriend popped the question and I was excited to be his wife. I was not excited about planning a Wedding. The pressure to have the obligatory nuptials and reception was upon me. Ultimately, that pressure and the lack of motivation personally and from my surroundings resulted in the most unplanned event of the century. I will spare you all the gory details. In a nutshell, I needed help. I should have sought help. Are we married now, yep! However, in retrospect, my friends and family deserved better. In retrospect, I should have hired a real Wedding Planner, I should have hired a real Photographer, I should have invested in making that day as smooth and special as possible; because my Fiancé and I deserved that. 

Don’t be like me. Don’t be “that Bride”. 

Shortly after I was married I changed jobs and inherited the opportunity to be Integrity Lighting’s Liaison to an elite group of Wedding Professionals in the Tulsa Wedding Society. These Small Business Owners have influenced and motivated my emotional respect for the monumental occasion.
